The second annual Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom concert special is set to kick off live on CNN and OWN Monday, June 19 at 8/7c.
The event will include performances from popular African American artists for the annual celebration of Juneteenth, a holiday that marks the end of slavery in the United States.
According to Live Nation, this year’s Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom event will feature an array of icons and artists that span across the entertainment industry. The initial list of performers include Miguel, Kirk Franklin, SWV, Davido, Coi Leray and Jodeci, with more artists and presenters to be announced.
Grammy and Emmy award-winner Adam Blackstone and The Roots co-founder and Academy award-winner Questlove will serve as the evening’s musical directors.
